The authors of the song were Thomas Rhett, Sean Douglas, Joe Spargur. The song for 9 weeks became No. 1 in the US country chart, received the Billboard Music Awards and 2 cr. RIAA platinum status.

"Die a Happy Man" debuted at No. 17 on the American country music charts Billboard Hot Country Songs on the week of September 28, 2015, and at No. 92 on the Billboard Hot 100 ' with a circulation of 40,000 copies in its debut week ^[3] . In the second week, she reached No. 30 at Country Airplay ^[4] with a circulation of 33,000 copies ^[5] . The song reached No. 1 in Country Digital Songs in its third week of release with a circulation of 39,000 copies ^[6] . She reached No. 1 on Hot Country Songs in her 6-week release ^[7] and then also No. 1 on Country Airplay in December ^[8] , staying in first place at the same time in all three of these charts for several weeks ^[9] . On the Hot 100 chart, she reached No. 21 on January 2, 2016 ^[10] . 5 weeks of No. 1 in 2015 and another 4 weeks in January 2016 gave an indicator of 9 weeks of absolute leadership in Hot Country Songs (as well as 4 weeks of No. 1 in Country Airplay and 10 weeks of No. 1 in Country Digital Songs) ^[11] . By January 2016, the Die a Happy Man circulation was 823,000 digital downloads ^[12] , and by February it exceeded one million downloads ^[13] . By May 2016, the song “Die a Happy Man” was downloaded 1,499,000 times ^[14] .

The song received positive reviews from music critics, for example, from Taste of Country ^[15] .

Music video

The music video was shot with the participation of the wife of singer Lauren Gregory. The director was TK McKamy, and the premiere took place in June 2015 ^[16] .
