Creation History
The song Body Electric refers to Jesus Christ , Elvis Presley , Marilyn Monroe and Walt Whitman , talking about this when she sings that, "Elvis is my father, Marilyn is my mother, Jesus is my best friend." In chorus, she alludes to Whitman calling for his father and singing “I sing the body electric”, in relation to a poem of the same name, “I Sing the Body Electric”.
