The urban settlement of the working settlement Tonshaevo was established by the law of the Nizhny Novgorod Region of June 15, 2004 No. 60-З “On the Allocation of Municipal Entities — Cities, Workers' Settlements and Village Councils of the Nizhny Novgorod Region” to the status of an urban, rural settlement [3] .
