  Shooting

In January 2013, the International Sport Shooting Federation adopted new competition rules for 2013–2016, which, in particular, changed the order of the finals. In many disciplines, athletes who have reached the final now begin a decisive round without points scored in the qualification, and the final passes through the elimination system. Also in the finals after each round of shooting an athlete with the lowest score will be eliminated from further combat. In a high-speed pistol, the decisive fights take place according to the system hit-miss. In the bench shooting, a semifinal round was added, where two participants of the final match and the match for third place are determined [2] .

  Archery

In the qualification of the competition, archers perform 12 series of shots of 6 arrows each from a distance of 70 meters. According to the results of the preliminary round, a grid of play-offs is drawn up, where in the 1/32 finals the 1st sowing number meets with the 64th, the 2nd with the 63rd, etc. Athletes perform three shots in knockout fights. A participant who has scored more points for this series will receive 2 points. If both archers have scored the same number of points, then they get one point each. The winner of the pair is the archer, the first to score 6 points.

  Weightlifting

Each NOC chooses a category in which its weight lifter will perform. As part of the competition, two exercises are conducted - jerk and push. In each of the exercises, the athlete is given 3 attempts. The winner is determined by the sum of two exercises. In case of equality of results, the victory is awarded to the athlete, with a lower own weight.

Women

In competitions in the category up to 63 kg, the DPRK national team was represented by the double bronze medalist of the World Championships, Choi Hye Sim. After three attempts in the snatch, the North Korean athlete walked in 4th place, behind the closest rivals of 3 and 6 kg. The strength of Choi has always been the push, which in the last two world championships brought the athlete two small silver medals. Already in the second attempt in the push, Choi rose to second place, and 143 kg taken in 3 attempts made her inaccessible to competitors in the fight for silver. Also this result for a short time became a new Olympic record. Winning the tournament won the Chinese Dan Wei , setting world records in the jerk and the amount of exercise. The North Korean athlete was 14 kg behind Dan at the same time, while the Chinese did not even use her final attempt.
