Strumigenys asrochia (lat.) - a species of small earthen ants from the subfamily of myrmycin (Myrmicinae). Southeast Asia ( Indonesia , Sulawesi ).

Small ants (about 2 mm) with a heart-shaped head, extended posteriorly. Head length HL 0.68-0.69 mm, head width HW 0.44-0.49 mm (mandibular index MI 47-50). Head dorsum with 2 spaced hairs at occipital margin. They have long mandibles with two apical spiked teeth. The main body color is brown. Antennae 6-segmented. Posterothorax with 2 long propodeal spines and one preapical.

Similar to representatives of the species complex S. godeffroyi -complex.

The stalk between the breast and the abdomen consists of two segments: the petiolus and postpetiolus (the latter is clearly separated from the abdomen), the sting is developed, pupae are naked (without cocoon). Presumably, like other species of the genus, specialized hunter for coleball . The species was first described in 2000 by the English worldmecologist Barry Bolton ( London , Great Britain ) [1] .
