Biography

Lazar Sitherman was born in October 1894 in Mozyr [3] in the family of a pharmacist [2] . In 1916 he graduated from the medical faculty of Yuryev (Tartu) University . Since 1916, a military doctor, first the Russian army , then the Red Army [2] . In the early 1920s, he participated in the organization of health care in Minsk [1] , and in 1921, after the end of the Civil War , he became the head physician of the central clinic of Minsk. In 1923-1930 - assistant of the therapeutic clinic of the medical faculty of the Belarusian State University . Since 1931 - Head of the Department of the Minsk Medical Institute . In 1933 he received the title of professor [2] .

In 1936 he defended his doctoral dissertation [1] . He attached great importance to the methodology of scientific work. In 1938 he prepared methodological guidelines “On scientific work at the site”. In 1939, he became the author of the Collection of Clinical Recipes [1] , and also received the title of Honored Scientist of the BSSR [2] . Published a number of works on the etiology, clinic and treatment of diseases of the cardiovascular system [3] .

After the start of the Great Patriotic War, for several days I provided assistance to the wounded in Minsk. Did not have time to evacuate when the city was captured by German troops. As a Jew , he was sent to the Minsk ghetto . He died in the fall of 1941. Presumably, he was hanged by the Gestapo in prison after torture. [2]
