In the summer of 2014, the first steps to establish the company began. On September 1, the first wrestling school in the city opened in St. Petersburg, where a large number of newcomers came, the training process began on the same day. The first show was held on December 7, 2014 at the Cosmonaut Club [3] [4] [5] [6] . At the show, in addition to experienced wrestlers from Moscow, the first graduates of the NSW school made their debuts. In addition, the show was hosted by the hosts of the popular YouTube channel LizzzTV - Max Brandt and Kostya Pavlov [7] . On April 26, 2015, NSW independently hosted their second show at the More Club [8] [9] . NSW wrestlers already debuted, some NFR wrestlers and new graduates of the NSW school performed on the show. It was also announced on this show that, starting in the summer, NSW shows will be held on a monthly basis.

In May, the NSW wrestlers performed at the first Comic Con festival in St. Petersburg , which was held on 16-17 [10] [11] . This was followed by the third NSW show [12] , which was held at the new promotion base on which the company is still based - the NSW Home Arena at 59/7 Lesnoy Avenue [13] . Also in the summer, with the support of the LizzzTV channel, NSW launched a new project - Wrestling Time [14] . To participate in the project, we recruited new guys who wanted to start a wrestler career. The participants were divided into two teams, and each had its own mentor - the host of the LizzzTV channel. The participants took a special training course, which was filmed on camera. Every week, 2 participants left the project. On July 17, journalists from the St. Petersburg TV channel made a report on NSW [15] . And, finally, from July 31 to August 2, NSW wrestlers performed as part of another festival - Starcon [16] [17] [18] , which, in addition to the usual fights, hosted the first Russian team tournament Triumph [19] .

First Battle of the Neva

On September 1, 2015, NSW announced that it joined the European Union Wrestling Associations , which includes wrestling promotions from Denmark, Ireland, England, Italy, Germany, Norway and Scotland [20] [21] . The NSW’s main show of the year, the Battle of the Neva , was also hosted by world-class wrestling superstar Colt Boar [22] . The final of the Wrestling Time project [23] was held at the same show. In addition, the first promotion champions were determined at the Battle of the Neva [24] :

  • Alex Anderson became NSW Champion;
  • Denis Rudenko and Maxim Rustamov became NSW Team Champions;
  • Freddie Machete became NSW Extreme Champion;

After that, as previously announced, shows began to be held monthly at the NSW Home Arena. At the end of 2015, it was announced that the new big Ultimatum show would be held on January 23, 2016 and in addition to regular matches, the Royal Battle will be held in the show, in which 30 wrestlers will take part [25] .

The largest professional wrestling show in the history of St. Petersburg

On August 25, 2018, during the regular Cross Factor show, it was announced that the Battle of the Neva 2018 will be the largest professional wrestling show in the history of St. Petersburg, as it will go on for two days [26] . The show took place on November 24 and 25 in two arenas at once - the first day passed at the NSW Home Arena [27] , and the second day was already at the NSW Grand Arena [28] . The show received very high marks from the audience, and a couple of weeks after the show it was announced that the Battle of the Neva in 2019 will also go on for two days.
