Count Karl Johann Friedrich von Medem ( German: Karl Johann Friedrich von Medem ; March 23, 1762 , Mesotten Manor, now Mezotne , Bau Krai - December 9, 1827 , Mitava ) is a Courland nobleman from the Medem family. The son of Johann Friedrich von Medem , brother of the diplomat Christoph Johann Medem and the last Duchess of Courland Anna Charlotte Dorothea .

Since 1804, the leader of the Courland nobility.
On August 1, 1812, by the decision of the French Emperor Napoleon I, in the territories of the former Duchy of Courland and Semigale , annexed to the Russian Empire in 1795, the Duchy of Courland, Semigale and Piltene was recreated, and Karl von Medem led his civilian administration. He performed these duties for several months, until December 20 of the same year, the Napoleonic troops left Kurland, which returned to the control of the Russian Empire.
In 1804 he acquired the estate of Neu-Autz ( German: Neu-Autz ), in 1815 he began the construction of the manor house. After Medem died, the estate was transferred to his daughter Carolina and her husband Baron Ferdinand von der Ropp from the Ropp clan [1] .
On August 13, 1817 he was awarded the Order of St. Anne of the 1st degree. [2]
