Filyanoti, Giuseppe

Giuseppe Filianoti was born in 1974 in the coastal city of Reggio Calabria in Italy. He received a literary education at the University of Degli Studi di Messina in Sicily . In 1997 he graduated from the Conservatory of Francesco Cilea in Reggio Calabria, studied with Anna Vandi. Won a prestigious two-year fellowship at the La Scala Theater Academy in Milan . Here he met the famous singer Alfredo Kraus , who became his long-term mentor and had a decisive influence on the vocal technique, artistic techniques and style of the young singer.

Filianoti made his debut on the professional stage in 1998 in Bergamo starring Donizetti in the opera Don Sebastian Portuguese . Filianoti performed at the San Francisco Opera House (Edgardo in “Lucia di Lammermoor”) ^[3] , with the New York Opera Orchestra at Carnegie Hall sang by Federico (“ Arlesian ” Chilea ) ^[4] . Filyanoti sings many works of Francesco Cilea and deeply studies his work. In 2011, the singer discovered among the composer's papers a manuscript of the aria “Alba novella / Una mattina” , which was originally part of a draft four-act version of “Arlesian”. The aria was expelled from the opera at the insistence of the publisher and forgotten.
