The early years

Giuseppe Filianoti was born in 1974 in the coastal city of Reggio Calabria in Italy. He received a literary education at the University of Degli Studi di Messina in Sicily . In 1997 he graduated from the Conservatory of Francesco Cilea in Reggio Calabria, studied with Anna Vandi. Won a prestigious two-year fellowship at the La Scala Theater Academy in Milan . Here he met the famous singer Alfredo Kraus , who became his long-term mentor and had a decisive influence on the vocal technique, artistic techniques and style of the young singer.

Career

Filianoti made his debut on the professional stage in 1998 in Bergamo starring Donizetti in the opera Don Sebastian Portuguese . At the Rossini Opera Festival in Pesaro in 1999 he performed the part of Argirio (“ Tancred ” by Rossini ), here he was noticed by Riccardo Muti , the main conductor of La Scala , and invited Paisiello “Nina” ( Italian: Nina, o sia La pazza per amore) to participate in the opera ) In 2003, Filianoti sang at the opening of the La Scala season in Rossini's opera Moses and Pharaoh .
