Geography

The village is located to the south and east of the ravines ramified system that marks the upper reaches of the Studenets creek: the sources of the creek are located north (north-west) of Kashirka. At the same time, the entire upper reaches of the watercourse, with the exception of the actual area of its two sources, including the immediate vicinity of the village of Kashirka, already belongs to the territory of the Zadonsky district (the border passes to the west of the settlement). The settlement stands above the southern branch of the ravine formed by the left source of the stream, originating from the village of Otverg-Studenets (the village itself is thus located northeast of Kashirka). In the east, a little further the village is the village of Bruslanovka .

North-west - the peak of 206.7 m. Further west, also in the valley of the stream, there is a large village Casino . South-west, south of the ravines belonging to the Student system - the Otradovka tract. South of Kashirka, Bruslanovka and Otradovka passes the highway R-119 Tambov - Orel . From the south and partly from the north side of the road, to the south, southeast and slightly east of the village, a large forest (mainly oak grows) is noted, on the eastern and southern edge of which is located the village of Yasnaya Polyana . At the western edge of the forest - tract Red Eagle. On the southern outskirts of Kashirka, according to some sources, an apple orchard is arranged.

The center of the Novodmitrievsky Village Council, the village of Novodmitriyevka , is located to the north, beyond the ravines of the upper reaches of the Studentts, on the section of the South-Eastern Railway ( Yelets - Lipetsk stage ). Earlier, on the right-hand source of the Studenets creek, approximately halfway between Kashirka and Novodmitrievka, was located the village of Friendship , which also belonged to the Novodmitrievsky village council and was excluded from the data of settlements in April 1978 [3] . In the village, according to some reports, previously there was a small airstrip . Now there is a summer cattle camp and a cattle cemetery in the Druzhba tract [1] [4] [5] .
