Toshio Tamogami ( 田 母 神 俊雄 Tamogami Toshio , born , [1] ) is an officer of the Japanese Air Force. Since March 2007, he held the post of chief of staff of the Japanese Self-Defense Forces , in October 2008 he was removed from office for publicly justifying Japanese aggression in Asia [2] .

Biography
In 1971 he graduated from the National Defense Academy of Japan in . In 1986, he was promoted to lieutenant colonel, colonel in 1990, and major general in 1996. March 28, 2007 was promoted to General and appointed Chief of Staff of the Japanese Self-Defense Forces [3] .
