Biography

Stockalo was born on August 15, 1879 in Wojsławicz , Austria-Hungary . He graduated from high school in the city of Lviv , then the theological faculty of Lviv University (1905). In the same year he was ordained a priest. He carried out pastoral ministry in the cities of Brody , Busk (both now Lviv region ), Lviv. In 1918-1944 he worked in the villages of Kalnoye (Kozovsky district) and Kotov (Ternopil region) . Archpresbyter of the Kozlovsky dean’s office of the Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church , canon of the Lviv chapter. Pavel Shtokalo died on September 30, 1945 in Kozovka , Ternopil region.

Creativity

Shtokalo is the author of collections of poetry on religious subjects, fables, short stories for children, didactic works of small fiction forms, plays “The Evening of St. Nicholas”, “Bethlehem Nativity Scene”. His works of art were published in the magazines " Young Ukraine ", "Our Friend", "World of the Child". He translated the " Divine Comedy " by Dante (3 books). The author of paintings. In addition, Shtokalo was fond of painting and was engaged in translations [1] .
