Wonderland (film, 2016)

New Year's Eve. Five independent stories:

1. A resident fell a “prize” in the game “ Field of Miracles ”, he took the money;
2. Four different people due to bad weather cannot fly to Moscow;
3. In the restaurant, two lovers arranged an acquaintance of their parents;
4. The young policeman is trying to take the doctor money for the future birth of his wife;
5. A UFO has landed on the outskirts of the village and a local resident is trying to help them ^{[to whom? ]} , and at the same time to save loved ones from the coming global flood .

After a series of strange adventures, everything ends with the New Year .

The false disharmony of climax and denouement is the only thing that connects all parts of the almanac, in all respects uneven. Basically, the film is pulled to a more or less decent level by a story about aliens and, with reservations, about law enforcement officers. The rest, for various reasons, are frankly fresh and weak. “Kvartetovtsi”, having tried on new hairstyles, false noses and roles, continue to practice wit on the already pretty boring topic “ What are men talking about .” Fyodor Dobronravov, always playing Fyodor Dobronravov, does not meet the real Yakubovich (another actor plays the role of the owner of the capital show), but he deconstructs his own worldview, which is triggered by, excuse me, the toilet, and in the final revels in the recognition of common truth. And the drama of the two petty bourgeois seeds, in which widespread and therefore even more unpleasant characters are guessed, does not at all amuse, but rather annoys ^[1] .

Popular opinion about the same “ Bitter! "Says that its authors hold their heroes for cattle, but" Wonderland "in this regard goes much further ... <...> ... the key difference between" Wonderland "from the same" Bitter! "- does not feel that authors love or at least respect their heroes. They stick with a finger, pin up, “convict”, condescendingly set the right path, but the characters are here, and their authors are there, and this destroys the unifying “New Year's” atmosphere and colors the scene in cloudy, sometimes even depressing tones. Like, on the occasion of the New Year, we will of course reconcile them, but you saw what kind of humpbacked grave they will correct ^[2] .

Since the novels of “Wonderland” are made in a different way, the okroshka from them, in which pieces from non-matching stories are densely mixed, looks rather wild. The bulk of this mishmash is occupied by the standard bydlofars, whose characters evoke at the same time a feeling of pity and, to a much greater extent, of disgust. Perhaps the culmination here can be considered the scene in the restaurant, where one of the heroines yells heartbrokenly: “I have everything washed there!” In this particular case, I mean the head under the hat, which was not removed at the table, but the effect is deafening. This is the point where pity finally drowns in the abyss of disgust, and not so much to the characters as to the authors of the indicated action. Although for many, such a point can happen much earlier, for example, on the phrase: “Well, should I crap, or shrug the clouds with my hands?!” ... ^[3]

Virtually none of the heroes overcomes and decides anything here - something just happens to them, and then something else happens that cancels or modifies the previous one. What the film "Wonderland" wants to tell us about under such conditions is not very clear. What happens to different people, does anything happen? It seems that one can boast of such a level of knowledge of the world already by entering high school. Probably, it would be possible to turn a blind eye to all these conventions that nullify any content, at least not for the incomplete hour and a half that the “Wonderland” goes if it was funny or very funny - but no, the New Year’s jokes from Quartet I rather tortured and boring, like a presenter’s speech, in which all these New Year’s jokes in the same scenario of the same year have been sitting deep in the liver for many years ^[4] .

• One of the main novels of the almanac - “After us at least a flood” - was filmed by director Zhora Kryzhovnikov and six months before the release of the entire film was presented at the Kinotavr film festival ^[5] , but subsequently Kryzhovnikov decided to remove his name from the captions of “Wonderland” , since in parallel with this film came out a more important project for him - " The Best Day " ^[6] .
• It was originally planned that the host of the “Field of Miracles” would be played by Leonid Yakubovich himself, but he did not want to play himself, and Dmitry Dyachenko was not interested in the idea of ​​playing another character ^[7] .
