Nikon D5 is a professional digital SLR camera introduced by Nikon at CES in January 2016 as a replacement for the previous Nikon D4s [2] . The absolute record was the maximum light sensitivity of ISO 3,280,000 in the extended Hi-5 range, first achieved in a serial camera [3] . The result was obtained by combining the new full - frame CMOS sensor and EXPEED 5 processor, developed independently by the company. High image quality is achieved even at relatively high ISO values up to 12,800, often used in sports photojournalism [4] .

Features
The camera generates photo files with a maximum resolution of 20.8 megapixels and allows you to record ultra-high definition 4K video (3840 × 2160/30 fps). In this parameter, the new model caught up with the specialized Canon EOS-1D C camera, surpassing it by the built-in time-lapse recording function [5] . However, the ultra-high definition movie is limited to 3 minutes. The new generation autofocus system provides focusing on 153 points, 99 of which are cross-type. The new Multi-CAM 20K sensor has high sensitivity: the center point works confidently in light conditions corresponding to -4 EV , and the rest are operable with brightnesses only a step higher [4] .
The new camera has reached the level of its main competitor Canon EOS-1D X in the frequency of serial shooting with a moving mirror of 12 frames per second, even in tracking AF mode, but inferior to the announced one month later Canon EOS-1D X Mark II [6] . The size of the buffer allows continuous series of up to 200 frames of lossless compressed RAW with a color depth of 12 bits . When the mirror is fixed in Live View mode, a speed of 14 frames per second is achieved with idle autofocus [1] . The automatic exposure control system in the evaluative metering mode independently “recognizes the scene” using the new color 180-kilopixel sensor [5] . Supported HDRi mode for contrasting scenes [1] .
The 3.2- inch touchscreen has a high resolution of 2.36 million pixels. In addition to the Micro-B connector of the USB 3.0 standard , the camera is equipped with an Ethernet port with a throughput of 400 Mbps per second for connecting to local area networks [7] . The data exchange rate is increased by 1.5 times compared to D4s [3] . When docked with the new Wi-Fi “WT-6” transmitter, the camera can transfer files wirelessly up to 200 meters to an FTP server, as well as connect to a controlling smartphone . In the latter case, the installation of the Snapbridge mobile application is required, which allows you to instantly post photos on social networks [8] [5] . The Nikon D5 comes in two flavors: the Nikon D5-a, equipped with two XQD card slots and the Nikon D5-b with two CompactFlash slots. At the same time, the camera module with slots, if necessary, can be replaced in the service center if the owner decides to change the flash memory standard [9] . The start of sales, dedicated to the preparations for the summer Olympics in Rio de Janeiro , is scheduled for March 2016 with the cost of both options 6499.95 US dollars [2] [10] .
