This season there was a famous scandal with a contract match . On April 2, 1915, the First Division game was played between Manchester United and Liverpool . United won 2-0. It turned out that the match was negotiable, the players of both teams made bets on a previously agreed result. After that, the Football Association disqualified United players Sandy Turnbull , Arthur Wally and Inok West , as well as Liverpool players Jackie Sheldon , Tom Miller , and .
It was also the last season before the cancellation of official competitions in England in connection with the outbreak of the First World War .
