(16588) Jongy ( lat. Johngee ) - an asteroid belonging to a group of asteroids crossing the orbit of Mars . It was discovered on September 23, 1992 by the American astronomer Eleanor Helin at the Palomar Observatory and named after the employee of the California Institute of Technology John Guy.
