Description

Ants are medium in size (about 1 cm), the main color is reddish-brown (black belly). It has sharp shoulders on the pronotum. The abdomen is covered with golden hairs. The width of the head of large workers is from 3.05 to 5.47 mm, the length of the head is from 3.30 to 5.04 mm. Propodeum rounded, without spines. The maxillary palps in females, workers and males consist of 6 segments, and the labial ones of 4. The eyes are located behind the midline of the head. The attachment points of the antennae are at some distance from the rear edge of the clypeus. Coxae of hind legs close together. Antennae 12-segmented in females and workers and 13-segmented in males. The tip of the abdomen opens with a tubular hole (acidopore), surrounded by a group of hairs. The stalk between the breast and the abdomen consists of one segment ( petiol ), usually with a vertical scale. Nests in the soil under the stones [1] . The species was first described in 1910 by the Swiss entomologist Auguste Forel . It is included in the subgenus Myrmopiromis and the species group Camponotus fulvopilosus species group together with the species C. brevisetosus , C. detritus [1] [2] [3] .
