Biography

Born in 1908 at the Almaznaya station (now Lugansk region , Ukraine ).

He graduated from the Kharkov Institute of Chemical Technology (1932). He worked at chemical enterprises.

During the war, an engineer at the Dorogomilovsky Chemical Plant. He was one of the authors of a continuous method for the production of benzidine sulfate .

Since March 1946 - a participant in the atomic project, sent to PSU under the SNK of the USSR . He stood at the origins of obtaining the first plutonium: first (from October 1947) at the experimental facility at NII-9 (the future VNIINM ), and then (from February 1949) at the first radiochemical plant of Combine No. 817 (Chelyabinsk-40).

Until the end of 1950, he worked at the plant as the head of department “B”, in which the fluoride technology for refining plutonium was worked out and construction materials for corrosion-resistant equipment operating in ultra-aggressive environments were selected experimentally.

Since 1950 - in the apparatus of PSU, at the Ministry of Secondary Engineering (head of department, deputy chief engineer of the 4th head office).

Since the mid-1970s, he worked at VNIINM (All-Union Scientific Research Institute of Inorganic Materials - former NII-9).

Doctor of Technical Sciences .

Awards and Prizes

  • The Stalin Prize of the third degree (1948) - for the development and implementation of a continuous method for the production of benzidine sulfate, which provided a significant increase in the productivity of equipment and a reduction in the harmfulness of production
  • Stalin Prize of the third degree (10.29.1949) - for the development of the technological process for the production of plutonium at the plant No. 817
  • Order of Lenin (10.29.1949).
