He made his debut in professional football on March 6, 1954 with performances for the Red Star team, in which he spent twelve seasons, taking part in 153 league matches.

Subsequently, from 1966 to 1973, he played in the teams “ Karlsruhe ”, “ St. Louis Stars ”, “ OFK ”, “ Santa Fe ”, “ Atletico Bucaramanga ”, “ Millionarios ” and “ America (Cali) ”.

He completed a professional gaming career in the club " Paris ", for the team which played during the years 1975-1976.

In the national team

The debut for the national team of Yugoslavia took place on September 30, 1956, at the age of 19, in a friendly match against the Czechoslovak national team . During his career in the national team, which lasted 7 years, he played 41 matches in the form of the country's main team, scoring 6 goals.

As part of the team was a member of the Olympic Games 1956 in Melbourne , where, together with the team won the silver, 1958 World Cup in Sweden , European Championship in 1960 in France , where, together with the team won the silver, 1962 World Cup in Chile .
