History
The authors of the monument were sculptor Andrei Faydysh-Krandievsky and architect Mikhail Barshch . The casting of the monument was carried out at the art casting plant in Mytishchi near Moscow . Then all the materials were delivered by rail to Khabarovsk. The monument was inaugurated on October 26, 1956 in the presence of more than 300 Far Eastern partisans, and four years later it received the status of a republican [1] , becoming the first monument of this rank in the Far East . [2]
Description
The monument is located in the center of Komsomolskaya Square. The center of the monument is a twenty-two-meter tetrahedral obelisk of gray hewn granite, crowned with a bronze five-pointed star in laurel branches. On the pedestal of the monument are three figures three meters tall: partisans in a sheepskin sheepskin coat with a Maxim machine gun , a commissar and a Red Guard with a rifle and an unfolded Soviet banner - as a symbol of rallying the fighting people.
