Biography
Ivan Kuzmich Konyshev was born on September 4, 1895 in the village of Staro-Oparino (now the Urzhum district of the Kirov region ). In 1915, he was called up for service in the tsarist army, served as a mine engineer in the Training and Mine Detachment, and rose to the rank of non-commissioned officer. In 1918, he volunteered to serve in the Navy. He participated in the battles of the Civil War, was wounded [1] .
After the end of the Civil War, he continued to serve in command posts in units of the USSR Navy. Since 1924 he served in military schools, was the head of training at the Electromine School, the head of the Joint and Artillery Schools of the Navy of the USSR. In 1939 - 1940 he commanded the Luga military port, participated in the Soviet-Finnish war. Subsequently, he commanded a port in the city of Koivisto , and since October 1940 he was the commandant of Tallinn [1] . May 21, 1941 awarded the military rank of Major General of the Coastal Service.
Since the beginning of World War II - in the army. He commanded the naval semi-crew of the Baltic Fleet, the 15th Marine Regiment, and the 61st Marine Rifle Brigade . Since May 1942, he headed the Training Unit of the Black Sea Fleet . In April 1947, with the rank of Major General of the Coast Service, he was transferred to the reserve. He died on October 18, 1979, was buried in the cemetery of Kommunarov in Sevastopol [1] .
He was awarded the Order of Lenin , the Red Banner and World War 1 degree, a number of medals, and also twice received personal weapons [1] .
