I come here (in Simferopol), I don’t see anyone, I don’t know and I don’t want to know. This lasted no more than 24 hours is it because my sister’s piano reputation is known, or they instinctively discovered that I can play waltzes and quadrille, burst into me, showered with greetings, and the small town made me sick of Petersburg " [8]

Oral stories of M. S. Durnovo about his brother were used in part in materials for the biography of Griboedov, prepared by D. A. Smirnov.

Woe from Mind

Maria Sergeevna was the first to know about the literary intentions of Alexander Sergeyevich, about his writing of the first acts of the comedy " Woe from Wit ." He worked where necessary, recalled Maria Sergeyevna. Very often the writer came to the sister's room. Comedy at that time was still a mystery, not only for the public, but for most of the acquaintances. But once M. Yu. Vielgorsky , sorting the notes on the piano of Maria Sergeyevna, found a sheet, then another, third, written in verses and by Griboedov’s hand. Maria Sergeevna wanted to hide the discovered sheets, but it was too late. The news of the new comedy went around Moscow from the lips of the then-famous amateur musician. [9] After the death of her brother, Maria Sergeyevna Durnovo, along with the widow of the playwright, N. A. Griboedova , became the executor of Alexander Sergeyevich Griboedov. This was announced in the Moscow Gazette of March 11, 1831; after a one-year period, the Cherny District Court “resolutely determined on August 31st on August 31, according to the decrees to the money capital stored in the St. Petersburg Board of Trustees, remaining at the death of the registered state councilor Alexander Sergeyev, stored in the St. Petersburg Board of Trustees, approved the wife of the deceased Mr. Griboedov as legal heirs Nina Alexandrovna and her sister Surety Marya Sergeyevna daughter Griboedova after her husband Durnovo, and if the comedy book Gore from the mind remained after Mr. Griboedov’s death, then it belongs INH to Ms and Durnovos Griboedova " [10]
