Nikita Ivanovich Lien-Kun ( July 15, 1882 , near Shanghai , China - 1947 [1] , Moscow , USSR ) - a teacher of Chinese and regional studies in Soviet educational institutions. The author of textbooks and dictionaries in the Chinese language.

Biography

Ethnic Chinese . According to the recollections of relatives, he was born near the city of Shanghai [1] . In childhood, he lost his parents. He was brought up by the Russian spiritual mission . He was baptized.

He graduated from Peking University [2] . In his youth, having a good voice (bass), he sang in the church choir at the Russian Spiritual Mission [1] .

In 1917 he came to Russia (according to a family legend, at the invitation of a certain Russian professor who drew attention in the Russian spiritual mission to a gifted young man [1] ).

He worked as an editor of a Chinese work newspaper in Chita .

He taught Chinese at the Institute of Oriental Studies at the Central Executive Committee of the USSR [2] .

He taught at the Eastern Department of the Military Academy of the Red Army named after M.V. Frunze from 1920 to 1940 and at the Higher Special School of the General Staff of the Red Army . He was a member of the Red Army . Trained over 300 Sinist officers [2] .

He played the role of the messenger of the Golden Horde in the film " Alexander Nevsky " (1938).

Family

Wife - Elizabeth Anatolyevna. Four children were born from the marriage: daughters Nina, Sophia, Irina and son Nikolai. According to family recollections, Lien-Kun deliberately did not teach his children the Chinese language, as he feared that, knowing Chinese, they could be sent to China as scouts [1] .

 On pedagogical work in military schools from 1921 to the present (Military Academy named after MV Frunze, VSHKA).

From 1922 to 1937 in the frames of the Red Army. Assistant professor.

During his teaching career he trained up to 300 Sinist officers. A part of the trained officers holds the post of teachers at the Higher School of Military Aviation and the Eastern Institute; many, having mastered the Chinese language perfectly, are on a long business trip.

Serious, demanding teacher practitioner. Has good pedagogical skills. He conscientiously tries to pass on his experience and knowledge to student officers. A disciplined, cultural, self-educating teacher.

In connection with the 60th anniversary and for the excellent successes in the training of intelligence students, he is worthy of a government award - the Order of the Badge of Honor [3]
