Uftugo-Ileshsky Zakaznik is a state natural (landscape) nature reserve of regional significance in the Verkhnetoyemsky and Krasnoborsky districts of the Arkhangelsk region [1] [2] .

Content
History
An array of old-growth forests in the southeast of the Arkhangelsk region, disappearing due to destructive clear-cutting, was discovered by the World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF) in 2009 [3] . The creation of the Uftugo-Ilesha Reserve was approved by the Government of the Arkhangelsk Region No. 475-pp dated November 24, 2015 [4] . The reserve area is 78.69 thousand ha.
Location
The Uftugo-Ileshsky nature reserve is part of the Verkhnevashsky large intact forestland and is located on the border with the Komi Republic in the upper reaches of the Uftuga , Ilesha , and Osa rivers.
The reserve territory is represented by two separate clusters - “Western” (area - 49 970 ha) and “Vostochny” (area - 28 720 ha).
The reserve includes quarters [5] :
- 146 - 150, 162 - 168, 178 - 186, 196 - 204, 214 - 222 - Ilesha district forestry of Vyisky forestry;
- 1 - 5, 13 - 17, 25 - 32, 37 - 44, 55 - 59 - of the Sloboda district forestry of the Krasnoborsky forestry;
- 1 - 16 - Komarovsky district forestry of the Krasnoborsky forestry.
In addition to the two main clusters, it is advisable to include the third additional cluster “Ship Thicket” into the structure of the protected areas of the Uftugo-Ilesha Reserve [6] .
Protected species
On the territory of the reserve, populations of rare and vulnerable species of plants, animals, and fungi were revealed, among which wild forest reindeer, golden eagle, eagle owl , flying squirrel, real slipper, whitish leucorchis and the longest asleep .
