The Novgorod-Sofia vault , according to the Russian philologist Alexei Shakhmatov, is a preliminary name according to the Novgorod Fourth and Sofia First Annals [1] .
Shakhmatov originally attributed the first mention of the code in 1448 (which means it was also called the code of 1448), but later he rearranged the date of reference to the 1430th [1] . Some Russian philologists agreed with his opinion, while others attribute the date to 1418 according to Photius, Metropolitan of Kiev [2] .
