Biography

Victor Dereli was born in 1840 in Paris . He graduated from the Higher Normal School .

He translated into French the works of Russian literature of the 19th century. He is known mainly for the translation of the works of Fyodor Dostoevsky : “ Crime and Punishment ”, “ Idiot ”, “ Demons ”, “ Poor People ”.

He also translated Alexei Pissemsky , Ilya Zion , Nadezhda Khvoshchinskaya , Ivan Sechenov , Nikolai Leskov .
