Biography
Oscar Kölner was born on May 13, 1851 in Tillowice. In 1874 he graduated from the University of Leipzig . From 1874 to 1880 he worked as an assistant at the agricultural academies in Proskau and Württemberg . In 1880 he moved to Japan on a long business trip as a , where from 1880 to 1882 he became a professor of agricultural chemistry at the University of Tokyo . In 1892 he returned to Germany and took the post of director of the agricultural experimental station in Möckern. This position Oscar Kölner takes to death.
Oscar Kölner died on September 22, 1911 in Möckern.

- The Institute of Livestock in Germany is named after Oscar Kölner.
