History
The class IV station Neigut of the Friedrichstadt county of Courland province was opened in 1904 when the Moscow-Vindava railway was commissioned [2] . Of particular importance was acquired during the First World War , when a 25-kilometer railway was laid from here with the European (according to other sources - narrow gauge) gauge to Merzendarbe [3] . This line existed only a few years after 1920 . the docs are no longer mentioned. Since 1919, the station was called "Vetsmuiza". Instead of the wooden building destroyed during World War I, in 1926 built stone, designed by J. Neis. The name "Vecumnieki" has been since 1940 . [four]
