David Bruce Cassidy ( born David Bruce Cassidy ; April 12, 1950 [7] - November 21, 2017 [8] ) is an American actor and singer. Best known for her role as Keith Partridge in the 1970s American comedy musical series The Partridge Family , which earned him adolescent idol status. At the end of the series, he continued his successful career as a singer and actor [9] .

Biography
Born in a family of actors Evelyn Ward and Jack Cassidy [9] .
He became famous in the role of a singing teenager, heartthrob Keith Partridge in the television series " Partridge Family ". In the role of the mother of the family, Shirley Jones starred in him, in real life, David also had a mother, only an adoptive one. In the story, the Partridge family played together as a rock band and traveled around the country [9] .
The popularity of the television show and especially of David was such that he began to be associated with his character in real life. His singles became hits. He sold millions of records, was nominated for a Grammy . His fan club has become the largest in history. But by the mid-1970s, teenagers had found new idols; they simply pushed David Cassidy into the shadows. He switched to an acting career, playing for many years on television and on stage, gaining respect and as a dramatic actor, as well as an actor in musical theater [9] .
In the 1990s, thanks to the promotion of old music on VH1 and in general, on the wave of nostalgia for the old days, David Cassidy got a very favorable permanent position at the MGM Grand Hotel in Las Vegas . There he put on his own show, with which he performed daily, attracting tourists. Then came another lucrative permanent show at another hotel. But still, David wanted to return to the general public, and he succeeded. In 2001, his world tour took place, he signed a contract for the recording of a new album [9] .
He died on November 21, 2017 at the age of 67 in Fort Lauderdale , Florida, in the intensive care unit of a local hospital after the actor’s family decided to turn off vital equipment [8] .
