Biography
Born in Leningrad in 1971 . Graduate of schools No. 157 (Gymnasium of the Princess of Oldenburg) and 239 ( Anne Schule ). Since 1991, lives in Israel .
Scientific and creative activities
He is the author of seven books, short stories , poems , essays and dozens of scientific articles published in Israel, Russia , Ukraine , USA , England , Germany , France , the Netherlands and Brazil . Sobolev is the author of the books The Trails (1999, 2017), Jerusalem (2005), Res Judaica (2007), Jews and Europe (2008), the fundamental work of The Concepts Used to Analyze 'Culture': A Critique of Twentieth-Century Ways of Thinking ( 2010), The Split World of Gerard Manley Hopkins: An Essay in Semiotic Phenomenology (2011) and Legends of Mount Carmel: Fourteen Love and Time Stories (2016).
His novel “Jerusalem” was included in the “short list” of the Russian Booker Prize for 2006. The novel "Legends of Mount Carmel: Fourteen Stories of Love and Time" is nominated for the National Bestseller Prize and the ABS Prize (Prize named after Arkady and Boris Strugatsky).
