  • Baltic states: Latvia , Lithuania , Estonia , as well as Denmark , Finland , Sweden .

Description

Kleptoparazity wasps: Symmorphus allobrogus , S. crassicornis , S. murarius (genus Symmorphus , family Vespidae ). They are found on dead wood (branches and trunks of Populus , Salix , Betula ) in the following open biotopes: forest edges, glades, gardens, and timber constructions. Visit the flowers of various plants. Period of flight: May - August. Length - 7-13 mm. Brightly colored metallic shiny wasps: the body is mostly blue or greenish blue, similar in color to the Chrysis indigotea species. Females often have a greenish-golden reflections on the mesoscine, mesoscullum and in front of the pronotum. The body is narrow, elongated [1] [2] [3] [4] . The species was first described in 1791 by German naturalist, gardener and pastor Johann Ludwig Christ , 1739 - 1813. Previously, some authors of this species appeared under the names Chrysis nitidula (of the authors, not Fabricius, 1775) or Chrysis purpurata (of the authors, not Fabricius, 1787) [1] [5] .
