Majak

Majak (also Majk or Majl ; X century ) - ruler (" king ") of the Slavic tribal association of the Valinans , which historians identify with the Volyn .

The Arab geographer al-Masoudi reported in the second half of the 10th century about the tribes “Valinana” and “Dulaba”, which are considered to be Volynians and Dulebs in historical literature. Here is what he wrote about Volyany:

"Of these tribes, one formerly had power over them in antiquity, its king was called Madjak, and the tribe itself was called Valinana. In ancient times all other Slavic tribes obeyed this tribe; for the (supreme) power was with him, and the other kings obeyed him ...
We already ... talked about the king whom the former kings obeyed, that is, Majak, the king of Valinana, which the tribe is one of the indigenous Slavic tribes, it is revered between their tribes and had superiority between them. Subsequently, discord broke out between their tribes, their order was disrupted, they were divided into separate tribes, and each tribe chose a king.
"

Some researchers believe that Madzhak lived long before the X century, and identify him with Musokiy .
