Biography

Samuel Goba was born on January 26, 1799 in Switzerland ( CrΓ©mines ).

On behalf of the London Missionary Society, Goba acted from 1826 to 1832 in Cairo and Abyssinia ; translated the Gospel into the Amgar language [4] .

After a second trip (1835–36) to Abyssinia, Goba was sent to the island of Malta , where he translated the Bible into oriental languages [4] .

Appointed in 1846 by the Evangelical Bishop of Jerusalem, S. Goba founded evangelical communities, schools, orphanages, hospitals in Jerusalem , Bethlehem , Jaffa , Nazareth [4] .

Samuel Goba died May 11, 1879 in the city of Jerusalem.
