Biography
Born March 29, 1872 in New York . He studied at Columbia University in New York, in 1893 he graduated with a bachelor's degree, in 1894 received a master's degree.
Until 1895, Pollard worked as an assistant curator at the Botanical Department of the United States Department of Agriculture, then became a curator of plants at the National Museum of the United States .
From 1897 to 1913, Pollard worked at the editorial office of Plant World magazine. From 1903 to 1906 he worked at G. & C. Merriam Co. , wrote an article on botanical terms for various dictionaries. Since 1907, he worked as chief curator of the Staten Island Museum in New York.
From 1937 he worked at the Martha Canfield Library in Arlington ( Vermont ).
He died in Arlington on August 16, 1945 .
Pollard participated in the writing of the fundamental monograph of the North American flora , carried out the processing of the Kalikanta family.
