The first season of the series Stargate Atlantis premiered in the United States on July 16 , 2004 . The expedition under the command of Dr. Elizabeth Weir goes to the city of the Ancients - Atlantis, and quickly enough they get into a serious alteration and are forced to look for allies in this new world of Atosians, but with them they find the enemies of the Rafe . An expedition cut off from the Earth should try to deal with the technologies of the Ancients on their own and find a way to defeat the reefs. Major John Sheppard creates a “first contact” team of himself, Rodney Mackay , Lieutenant Ford , and the leader of the Atosians - Theila Emmagan. During one of their first missions, they "earn" another enemy in the person of Jenai , a militaristic human civilization with technology at the level of 50 years. The season ends at the “mixed ending” when Atlantis is under siege by the Rafe.
