Biography
Hermann Jacques Jordan was born on July 9, 1877 in Paris. In 1901 he graduated from the University of Bonn, soon after that he moved to Holland and got a job at the Neapolitan biological station . From 1915 to 1943 he headed the Institute of Comparative Physiology , organized by himself, at the University of Utrecht . Herman Jacques Jordan, together with his students, gave a number of valuable works on the comparative physiology of absorption of the digestion biochemistry of both invertebrates and lower vertebrate fish. Herman Jacques Jordan was a teacher of the course of natural philosophy at the philosophical school in Amers Ford .
Herman Jacques Jordan died on September 21, 1943 in the Netherlands.
Scientific work
The main scientific works are devoted to digestion, respiration and the comparative physiology of the neuromuscular system.
