Jay Daniel Boummester ( born Jay Daniel Bouwmeester ; born September 27, 1983 , Edmonton , Alberta ) is a professional Canadian hockey player , defender of the St. Louis Blues NHL club. Olympic champion in 2014 , two-time winner of the World Cup ( 2004 and 2016 ) and two-time world champion ( 2003 and 2004 ) in the national team of Canada . Winner of the Stanley Cup 2019 .

In the 2002 NHL draft, he was selected in the 1st round under a common 3rd number by the Florida Panthers Club. On July 27, 2009, he signed a contract with Calgary Flames , in 2013 he was exchanged at St. Louis Blues for the right to choose a draft in the first round of 2013, as well as defender Mark Kundari and goalkeeper Reto Burr [1] .
NHL record holder among defenders in the number of games played in a row matches (737). The series was interrupted on November 23, 2014 due to Jay's injury.
Despite a long career in the NHL, Jay has not scored a single goal in the playoffs after playing 75 matches.
Since June 12, 2019 is a member of the " triple gold club ."
