After 1994, Rose disappeared from sight for several years. At this time, the group broke up due to personal and musical differences. As her only remaining original member, he was able to continue to work under the name Guns N 'Roses, because he legally had rights to the name of the group. In 2001, he appeared with the new Guns N 'Roses on Rock in Rio and subsequently played several periodic concert tours in support of the long-awaited album Chinese Democracy (2008), which exceeded the commercial expectations of the music industry after its release.

Musical career
1983-1986: The Early Years
Shortly after arriving in Los Angeles, Rose joined the Rapidfire band, with whom he recorded a four-song demo in May 1983 [12] . After the breakup of the band, he joined the first line-up of LA Guns [13] , before forming the Hollywood Rose band with his childhood friend Izzy Stradlin [14] , who moved to Los Angeles in 1980. In January 1984, the band recorded a demo of five songs, including the tracks "Anything Goes", "Rocker", "Shadow of Your Love" and "Reckless Life", which were released in 2004 on The Roots of Guns N 'Roses [ 15] .
In March 1985, Rose and his former bandmate Tracy Hans founded Guns N 'Roses by merging the two bands Hollywood Rose and LA Guns [16] . In June, after several changes in line-up, the band consisted of Rose, guitarist Slash , rhythm guitarist Izzy Stradlin , bassist Duff McCagan , and drummer Stephen Adler . The group attracted the attention of several major record labels. In March 1986 [17] the band signed with Geffen Records
1987-1989: Breakthrough with Appetite for Destruction
In July 1987, Guns N 'Roses released their debut album Appetite for Destruction . Despite the fact that the record received good reviews from critics, the album experienced a slow commercial start. In the first year, only 500 thousand copies were sold. However, fueled by the band’s relentless tour and the success of the main single, “ Sweet Child o 'Mine, ” Rose’s dedication to his then girlfriend Erin Everly, the album climbed to No. 1 on the US chart in August 1988, and in February 1989. To date, over 28 million copies of the album have been sold worldwide, 18 million of which are in the United States, making it the best-selling debut album of all time in the United States.
When the band performed at the Monsters of Rock festival in Castle Donington, England, in August 1988, two fans were crushed to death when a crowd of thousands began slamming the song “It's So Easy”. Rose stopped the concert several times to reassure the audience. Since then, he often turns from the stage to fans and gives instructions to security officials, sometimes stopping concerts to resolve issues in the crowd. As a result of the deaths at Monsters of Rock, the festival was canceled the following year [18] . MTV host Kurt Lauder described Rose as "arguably the best hard rock singer on stage right now and, of course, the most charismatic."
Personal life
Axl met model and actress Erin Everly, daughter of Don Everly from The Everly Brothers in early 1986 at a New York club. In the summer they began to meet. The girl moved to Los Angeles to be with her lover, and then they settled together in her apartment. Erin continued to work as a model to pay for housing. No one thought that their relationship would last long: Axl and Erin often fought, screaming and breaking dishes, after which either Erin or neighbors called the police. The relationship lasted four hectic years and was reflected in almost all Guns N 'Roses songs of that period. Erin can be seen in the clips “It's So Easy” (not officially released) and “ Sweet Child o 'Mine ”.
On April 27, 1990, Erin claims, Rose suddenly appeared in front of her door at 4 a.m. He said that he had a gun in his car and that he would shoot himself if she did not marry him. They got married the next day, April 28, in Las Vegas. The wedding was walked 27 days. In September, Erin found out that she was pregnant. But on October 29, in the third month of pregnancy, Erin had a miscarriage. Axl went to a house in the Hollywood Hills, where the couple planned to move in with a child, and smashed everything there. The damage amounted to hundreds of thousands of dollars. Axl almost lost his mind. The next day, Erin entered the house and smashed what was left. A month later, in November 1990, after another brawl, she left Rose forever.
In 1991, Guns N 'Roses required a young actress for the role of the second half of Axl in three videos, and they invited the American top model Stephanie Seymour . When Stephanie took on the role of Axl's savior in “Don't Cry” and his bride in “November Rain,” the girl instantly captivated his heart. Axl called her on the evening of the same day when they first met on the set, and soon they were already seen cuddling in the front rows at fashion shows.
Axl Rose spoke out under inhuman stress, because three weeks after the announcement of the engagement in February 1993, he and Stephanie Seymour broke up badly. Axl suspected her of treason, expressed her reproaches to her, and in March, Stephanie fled from their house. Nine months later, at the end of 1993, she gave birth to a son to newspaper tycoon Peter Brandt. (The following year, Stephanie Seymour and Peter Brandt got married).
In the same 1993, Rose met model Jennifer Driver, who starred in the Guns N 'Roses video for the song “Since I Don't Have You”. However, in 1994 the couple broke up. The reason is unknown, but after breaking up, Jennifer spoke well about Axl.
