Career

Initially, he was engaged in basketball , he came to football already in his late teens and almost immediately began playing for the adult team. According to Kapitsa himself, the lack of proper football training negatively affected the development of his sports career and, in the first place, caused excessive exposure to injuries [2] .

Having started his career in teams from Ruda-Slaska , in 1980 he moved to Shaombirki . He made his debut in the first league team on March 15, 1981 in a meeting with Steel ( Mielec ) [2] . Already in his first full season at the highest level - 1981/82 , Kapitsa became the top scorer of the championship with 15 goals scored [3] [4] . Soon after, he moved from Shomberok to the more eminent Lech , with whom he became the champion and winner of the Cup in the 1983/84 season [3] . However, Kapitsa did not fit into the team and stayed on the sidelines, and later he called this transition the main mistake of his career [2] . With “ Rukh ” ( Chorzow ) he became the champion in the 1988/89 draw , but played only 2 matches that season [3] .

In total in the first league - 127 matches, 44 goals [2] , in European competitions - 4 matches [5] .

Despite a rather successful career, especially at an early stage, at the club level, Kapitsa never played a single game for the Polish national team . He was part of the team’s extended application for the 1982 World Cup , but did not end up in the squad [2] .

Since the late 90s he has been working as a coach. Kapitsa mainly coached teams from the lower divisions, his most famous club was Polonia ( Bytom ), which at the time of its work played in the third league. He left Khoynichanka in April 2012 [6] [7] . Then he worked in the structure of “Ruha”.
