Kahramaa (Qatar General Electricity and Water Corporation) is a company established in 2000 to ensure and regulate the supply of electricity and water to the population of Qatar [1] .

42.74% of the company's shares belong to the state, 57.26% to private owners [2] .
History
During the period when Qatar was a British protectorate, the regulation of water supply and supply of Qatar with electricity was carried out by two separate departments, the State Water Department and the State Electricity Department [1] . After the withdrawal of British troops and Qatar's independence, the Ministry of Electricity and Water (Ministry of Electricity and Water) was created [1] . In July 2000, Qatar General Electricity and Water Corporation [1] was established by decree of the Emir of Qatar.
