Anthony (Prostihin)

Born October 20, 1976 in Glazov in the family of workers ^[1] . By his own admission: “I was born in Glazov to a family of workers and employees. My father was a mechanic, and my mother was an OTC inspector at the Chepetsk Mechanical Plant. There I grew up, graduated from school, and started going to the St. George Church, which was then the only one located on the outskirts of the city ” ^[2] .

In 1984-1994 he studied at the secondary school number 12 of the city of Glazov ^[3] .

By his own admission: “In 1993, at a youthful age, I was baptized. There was a conscious desire to serve the Church. I decided to enter the diocesan spiritual school in Volgograd, where relatives lived with us ” ^[2] . In 1994-1995 he studied at the Volgograd Diocesan Theological School ^[3] .

In 1995-1996 - a novice in the Kremensko-Voznesensky monastery of the Volgograd diocese ^[3] . The monastery, as he later recalled, “is located in a picturesque place where the ancient Cossack monastery used to be. Now the monastery has been restored, and then the dashing 90s stood in the courtyard. We lived in ruins at the destroyed cathedral. We slept on wooden shelves in barns, which were heated with electric wires. Outlets often caught fire. Since I was sleeping near one of them, they woke me up several times: the blanket was burning, let's put it out ” ^[2] .

In 1996-1998, he served in military service in the ranks of the Russian army ^[3] .

In 1998-2002, he was an altar man in the Transfiguration Church in the city of Glazov ^[3] .

March 17, 2002 in the Alexander Nevsky Cathedral of Izhevsk, Archbishop of Izhevsk and Udmurt Nicholas (Shkrumko) ordained deacon to the Transfiguration Church of the city of Glazov ^[3] .

On May 6, 2003, in the Transfiguration Church of the city of Glazov, Archbishop Nikolai of Izhevsk and Udmurt was ordained to the rank of presbyter with the appointment of a full-time priest to the Transfiguration Church of the city of Glazov. At the same time, he carried the obedience of the head priest of the Intercession Church in the village of Seva, the Holy Trinity Church in the village of Ponino, Glazov District ^[3] .

On April 14 of the same year, in the Holy Trinity Cathedral of the Alexander Nevsky Monastery of St. Petersburg, the vicar of the Lavra, Archimandrite Nazary (Lavrinenko), was tonsured as a monk with the name of Anthony in honor of St. Anthony Dymsky . He headed the pilgrimage service of the monastery ^[1] .

In the same year he graduated from the Moscow Theological Seminary in absentia.

In 2012, he entered the Law Faculty of the St. Petersburg Institute of Foreign Economic Relations, Economics and Law in absentia.

From 2013 to 2015, he studied by correspondence at the St. Petersburg Theological Academy ^[4] .

From 2012 to 2015, he served the Military Institute (Engineering) of the Military Academy of Logistics.

Bishop's

On December 24, 2015, by the decision of the Holy Synod, he was elected Bishop of Sarapulsky and Mozhginsky ^[5] .

On December 25 of the same year, in the Russian land of the shining, the Patriarchal and Synodal residence in the Danilov Monastery was elevated to the rank of archimandrite by the Metropolitan of St. Petersburg and Ladoga Varsonofiy ^[6] .

December 26, 2015 in the Throne Room of the Cathedral of Christ the Savior took place the naming of Archimandrite Anthony to the Bishop of Sarapulsky and Mozhginsky ^[7] .

On December 28, 2015, in the Sretensky Monastery of Moscow, he was consecrated as Bishop of Sarapulsky and Mozhginsky.
