Biography

Born in somone Jargalthaan aimak Khentiy in eastern Mongolia . From childhood, I learned from my father how to play the accordion . He worked as a music teacher in the schools of Ulaanbaatar , began to compose children's songs. Since 1975 he studied at the Conservatory in Sverdlovsk .

The author of more than 200 songs and romances, composed more than twenty major musical works, eight concerts for Mongolian folk instruments, three symphonies, four ballets: “Golden Rod ” ( Altan Urag ), “Cool Autumn” ( Seren Namar ), “ Intermediate State ” ( Zuurdyn Oron ) and The Sword Tempered in Onon ( Onond Khataagdsan Ild ), several operas, including the opera Genghis Khan ( Genghis Khan , 2003). Created music for 30 feature films. In 2000, at the suggestion of Yo-Yo Ma, he created the musical The Legend of Kerulen for the Silk Road Project . Several of his musical compositions were presented at the Stanford Pan-Asian Music Festival in 2011.
