Biography
Eugene Kelly created The Vaselines in 1986 with Francis McKee. The group lasted until 1989, breaking up with the release of their first album, Dum-Dum. The group was little known, but later gained wide popularity due to the fact that their songs Nirvana often did covers. Kurt Cobain was a big fan of The Vaselines and repeatedly performed at his concerts the songs of Molly's Lips and Son Of A Gun, which later became part of the compilation album Incesticide . At the MTV Unplugged concert in New York , at the Paramount Theater and, in fact, at many concerts related to tours that took place not long before the realization of their most commercially successful album Nevermind and not long after it, Nirvana performed the song Jesus Doesn't Want Me for a Sunbeam too.
