Biography
April 15, 1792 began serving as a lieutenant in the 7th battalion of volunteers of the Upper Garonne , served in the Army of the Eastern Pyrenees. August 18, 1795 transferred to the Italian army. He participated in the campaigns of 1796-1797 under the leadership of General Bonaparte . On June 19, 1796 he became a freelance officer in the 25th semi-brigade of infantry, since October 1, 1797 he has been officially serving. In 1798 he was determined to be part of the Eastern Army and took part in the Egyptian expedition, participated in the capture of the islands of Malta and Alexandria, and fought at Shebreis and the Pyramids. On April 21, 1799 he was appointed adjutant to General Menu .
Upon his return to France, on February 25, 1804 he headed the battalion of the 14th regiment of infantry, with which he participated in the campaigns of 1805, 1806 and 1807 as part of the Saint-Hilaire division of the 4th Corps of the Great Army . He fought under Ulm, Austerlitz, Jena, Eilau and Heilsberg. April 7, 1809 - major of the 70th regiment of line infantry, from 1810 he fought in the ranks of the Army of Spain and the Army of Portugal, participated in the battles of Puenta d'Alconeta, Busaco, Torres Vedras, Sabugale and Arapila. March 1, 1813 - Colonel, commander of the 24th regiment of infantry, July 31, 1813 wounded by a bullet in his right leg in the battle of San Esteban.
During the “Hundred Days” he joined the Emperor, on May 29, 1815 he was awarded the rank of brigadier general and on June 7, 1815 he was appointed commandant of the National Guard of Lille, after the second restoration by royal decree of August 1, 1815, production in the generals was canceled, from March 1, 1816 without official appointment. November 8, 1816 resigned. On February 8, 1832, King Louis-Philippe approved him with the rank of Major General. He died on April 1, 1846 in Beziers at the age of 75.
