Caucasian war

In 1851, Haji Murad, in his testimony, called Goitemir one of the best naibs of Imam Shamil. A chronological journal of military operations on the left flank of the Caucasian line from May 23 to June 6, 1846 noted the intense actions of Naib Goitemir in the Amir-Aji-Yurt, Umakhan-Yurt region, where Russian troops suffered significant losses during the offensive operations of the Aukhovites led by Naib Goitemir Aukhovsky [2] .

On April 19-27, 1846 he participated in a battle with the detachments of Lieutenant General Labintsev on the Yaryksu River.

He also raided Khasavyurt and the Sudden fortress.

On the night of 19 to 20, 1846, Goytemir Aukhovsky, not knowing yet that there were Russian troops in Yaryk-su, gathered a party, supposedly with the intention of seizing cattle from the Bayram-Auls or Bat-Yurt residents. Seeing the detachment, Goitemir Aukhov at 8 o’clock in the morning approached the camp, having assembled 300 horsemen, up to 600 on foot with one gun. After several cannon shots, on the one hand and on the other hand, Goitemir was informed that two companies of infantry without guns were following the Yaryk-su river. Leaving the infantry in front of the camp, Goytemir with all the cavalry and guns attacked two Russian companies, but the infantry, despite the 8 grenades fired towards them, met the Chechens.

Meanwhile, Lieutenant Colonel Timmerman, seeing that Goitemir Aukhovsky attacked a marching Russian column, leaving two companies with one gun in the camp, sent one company and a hundred Cossacks with a gun to the convoy for help. At the same time, pcs. Rudonovsky, who was in the cover of foragers, sending a convoy back to Ukrainian. Sudden, also moved to the aid of the attacked Russian companies. Goytemir, seeing that Russian troops were fleeing from all sides, quickly went into the woods [3] .

On May 25, in order to cover deforestation on the right bank of the Yaryk-su river, he was expelled from the camp. infantry. At 9 a.m. an enemy appeared on both sides of the river; having started a shootout with the battalion on the right bank. Goitemir on the left side advanced a cannon against the camp. The battalion returned to position. Goytemir, having joined the whole party on the right bank, advanced infantry with a gun against the camp, and with the cavalry remained on a hill. At this time, Lieutenant Colonel Kosorotov arrived in Sudden from Chir-Yurt with a combined baht. from two companies of the Absheron and two companies of the Dagestan infantry regiments, a hundred Don Cossacks No. 28 regiment with two mountain guns. Hearing the shots in the camp on the Yaryk-su river, Lieutenant Colonel Kosorotov moved there. Goytemir, noticing that Lieutenant Colonel Kosorotov was following, moved the whole mass against him and, six miles from the camp on the Vorovskaya beam, started a shootout with him. Lieutenant Colonel Timmerman at the same time sent three companies of the Jäger gen.-adjut from the camp. Prince Chernyshev regiment with one gun under the command of the cap. Kirilenko.

To be able to dispose of all movable artillery during troop movements, Gen. Kozlovsky ordered that fortress guns be delivered from the Sudden Camp: a half-pound unicorn, a 12-pound cannon, a two-pound mortar, and a kegern carrot.

Goitemir was located in Aji-Girey-Yurt, not more than 4 versts from the Russian camp on the right bank of the Yaryk-Su and constantly made attacks, now on the camp, then on the columns. Sending batteries to Batash-Yurt for two guns of the Don Cossack No. 1, and in anticipation of artillery and shells from cr. Sudden Gen. M. Kozlovsky in the morning put forward the infantry to the position and engaged in deforestation. Aukhovites were engaged in a significant skirmish with Cossack pickets. Around noon, a hundred enemy cavalry shot down our pickets. Gen.-m. Kozlovsky put forward from the camp 9 company jaeger gen.-adjut. Chernyshev regiment with three guns. Crowds of mounted enemies intensified, and meanwhile, they were amusing themselves with a shootout with our foot chain, Gen. M. Kozlovsky built two infantry echelons behind the Cossack infantry, adding to the Cossacks the gun of Don # 1 the batteries that had just arrived at the camp; gen.-m. Kozlovsky led the Cossacks into the attack, ordering the infantry to support this attack. Don Cossack No. 28 regiment of the army foreman Biryukov with the first echelon jumped out on the last ledge to Aji-Girey-Yurt, unexpectedly stood over the camp of Goitemir; the second train with a gun was stopped on another ledge.

Fresh enemy cavalry accepted the fleeing; his infantry quickly rushed to occupy forests and ravines on the flank of the Cossacks. Gen.-m. Kozlovsky ordered the first echelon to retreat. The enemy, as usual, is the population of the retreating; our infantry appeared on the second ledge, Gen.-m. Kozlovsky ordered Lieutenant Colonel Timmerman to occupy the left height with one column, cap. Kirilenko with another column will be located on the ledge where the second echelon of the Cossacks stood, sent this echelon to reinforce the retreating.

Goytemir, taking advantage of the rugged terrain and coppices, ordered his infantry to run into the flanks and rear of the position we occupy, probably expecting the infantry to retreat, but Gen.-m. Kozlovsky, having gathered and setting up the Cossacks behind the infantry and having annexed two companies of the Podolsk Jäger Regiment, who arrived from the Sudden with the garrison artillery and shells, launched a general attack. After a quarter of an hour, not a single enemy was left on the battlefield. The badge of Goitemir and 20 corpses remained in our hands.

Goitemir alone, without any help, was carried away from the Kumyks and Cossacks along the left bank of the Yaryk-su, but the dashing horse carried him, and he was saved. The foot Aukhovites, who so boldly ran into our flanks, were partly chopped up by Cossacks, partly dropped by bayonets from the cliffs. In Aji-Girey-Yurt, a stock of chureks was found, booths and hulks lit.

Goytemir after the defeat at Aji-Girey-Yurt invited Talgik, Saibdul and Atabai to gather parties and come to him, but when he was refused, he went to Shamil, and as if Shamil ordered everyone to gather immediately, declaring that he himself would arrive in Aukh [ 3] .

On May 25, 1846, Goytemir arrived in the Yaryksu River area, meanwhile, units of Russian troops led by Lieutenant Colonel Kosorotov occupied the Sudden fortification.

Collision with murids occurred in the Thieves beam. Due to the rushing help to Kosorotov, Goitemir retreated to the mountains [4] .

In one of the battles with Kozlovsky’s detachment, Goitemir turned to his neighboring naibs Talgik, Atabay and Saibdule for help, but did not wait for her because the latter refused him. However, it is known that Shamil himself ordered them to help Goytemir, and he promised to advance to help with troops from Dagestan , but also did not come to the aid of Goytemir [5] .

In East Chechnya - Aukha, along the Aktash River, there was a fortification of the Goytemirov Gate ( Chech. Goytemarankov ), built by Naib Goytemir Aukhovsky [6] [7] [8] [9] [10] [11] .
