Description
Perennial herbaceous plants, up to 25 cm tall. Rhizome tuberous. The leaves are tripartite, once or twice ternary dissected, basal 1-3, stem (apical) 1-2.
The flowers are bisexual, actinomorphic, 10-15 mm in diameter, on long pedicels with bracts at their base, collected in the apical brush . Perianth double. Calyx corolla, sepals yellow, cream or whitish, including (5) 6–9. Petals - nectaries , including sepals, yellow, oblong-wedge-shaped or leaf-shaped, triple incised. Stamens 6, free, opposite to the petals, the threads are short, anthers are opened by 2 valves from the base to the apex. Ovary upper, pistil 1, from 1 carpel, with (1) 2-3 (4) ovules on legs; the stigma is small, almost sedentary.
The fruit is a membranous box , 4-8 mm in diameter, opens with regular lobes until the seeds ripen. Seeds with membranous, fleshy aryllus , after opening the boxes are exposed from it.
