Oninyi Wilfred Ndidi ( born Onyinye Wilfred Ndidi ; born December 16, 1996 , Lagos , Nigeria ) is a Nigerian footballer , midfielder of the Leicester City club and the Nigeria national team . Member of the 2018 World Cup .

Ndidi began his career at the Belgian club Genk . On January 31, 2015, in his match against Charleroi , he made his debut in the Jupe League [2] . On January 15, 2016, in a match against Sylte Waregem , Wilfred scored his first goal for Genk [3] . At the end of 2016, the English Leicester City offered 15.5 million pounds for Ndidi [4] . In early 2017, Wilfred joined the foxes. On January 14, in a match against Chelsea , he made his debut in the English Premier League [5] . In April, in a fight against Stoke City , Wilfred scored his first goal for Leicester City [6] .

International Career

In 2013, Wilfred as part of the Nigeria U-20 team took part in the Youth World Championships in Turkey . At the tournament, he played in matches against the teams of Uruguay [7] , Cuba [8] and South Korea [9] .

In the summer of 2015, he took part in the youth world championships in New Zealand . At the tournament, Ndidi played in matches against teams of Brazil [10] , North Korea [11] , Hungary [12] and Germany [13] .

On October 8, 2015, in a friendly match against the DR national team, Congo Ndidi made his debut for the Nigeria national team [14] .

In 2018, Ndidi took part in the World Cup in Russia . In the tournament, he played in matches against the teams of Croatia [15] , Iceland [16] and Argentina [17] .
