Trigana Air Service is an Indonesian regional airline with headquarters in Jakarta [1] operating in the field of regular passenger traffic on domestic routes.

History
The airline began operating in early 1991 on two Beechcraft B200C King Air aircraft . By the end of that year, the company’s fleet was supplemented by two Bell 412SP helicopters. Two more ATR 42 liners were operated on wet leasing for Hainan Airlines on the routes from Sanya to Haikou and Hanoi [2] .

Flight Restrictions
Since 2007, Trigana Air Service has been added by the European Union to the list of airlines whose aircraft are prohibited from using EU airspace [6] [7] .
Accidents and incidents
In the entire history of the airline with its aircraft, 14 serious incidents occurred, as a result of which 10 aircraft were written off [8] .
- May 25, 2002. Aircraft de Havilland Canada DHC-6 Twin Otter (registration PK-YPZ), performing a passenger-and-freight flight, crashed in heavy rain. All four passengers and two crew members died [9] .
- February 11, 2010. ATR 42-300 (registration PK-YRP), performing regular flight 162, made an emergency landing on a flood field near Balikpapan after the failure of both engines. Onboard there were 52 people, all survived [10] .
- April 8, 2012. On the DHC-6 Twin Otter , on a flight from Nabire to Mulia Airport, several shots were fired at the destination airport. Both liner pilots were injured, an unmanaged aircraft with six passengers and two pilots crashed into the airport building. One passenger died, four people were seriously injured [11] [12] .
- August 16, 2015. ATR-42-300 (registration PK-YRN), following regular flight 257 from Sentani Airport to Oksibil , crashed in the mountains as it approached the destination airport in low visibility conditions (fog, rain). All 54 people died aboard the aircraft [13] [14] [15] .
