Biography
Born on December 27, 1903 in the village of Emelyanovka, Tauride Province.
In the Red Army ( OGPU - NKVD troops ) - from August 1922 and was sent to study at the 64th Theodosian infantry courses, in September 1923 - he was sent to the Joint Military School named after All-Russian Central Executive Committee. Upon graduation, in September 1926, he was sent to the 4th Ukrainian Red Banner Regiment of the GPU Internal Guard, where he served as platoon commander and assistant division commander for combatant units. In April 1931, Demin was appointed instructor in combat training of the 25th Moldavian border detachment . Since May 1932, he served as chief of staff and commander of the 23rd regiment of the GPU internal security, since April 1934 - commander and commissar of the 158th regiment of internal security of the NKVD. In July 1936 he was appointed interim commander of the 108th separate division of the internal security of the NKVD. Since June 1938, he commanded the 159th regiment of the internal security of the NKVD, from June 1939 - the 234th regiment of the convoy troops of the NKVD. May 22, 1941 he was enrolled as a student in the Order of Lenin Higher School of the NKVD.
With the outbreak of World War II, Lieutenant Colonel P.P. Demin was appointed commander of the 230th regiment of the 43rd brigade of the NKVD escort troops on July 8, 1941, and participated with him in battles on the Southern Front as part of the 56th army . In April 1942 he was sent to study at the Military Academy of the Red Army. MV Frunze, and at the end of the crash course in August of the same year, was sent to Stalingrad . On January 22, 1943, he was admitted to the provisional command of the 298th Rifle Division, on the basis of which on March 1, 1943 the 80th Guards Rifle Division was formed, which, as part of the 21st Army of the Don Front, fought to eliminate the German troops encircled near Stalingrad. May 25, 1943 Demin took command of the 214th Infantry Division , which was part of the 24th and then 53rd Army of the Steppe Military District . From June 20 to August 3, 1943 the division participated in the Battle of Kursk and as a result of heavy losses it was withdrawn from the battle. Being in the second tier, Major General P.P. Demin was not able to keep the discipline of the personnel of the division at the proper level, for which he was relieved of his post on August 13 and enlisted in the army reserve.
August 20, 1943 he was sent to study at the Higher Military Academy. K.E. Voroshilova, after which in December 1943 he was appointed commander of the 3rd Infantry Division of the 2nd Red Banner Army of the Far Eastern Front . In July 1945, he was appointed temporary acting commander of the 34th Infantry Division as part of the 15th Army of the Far Eastern Front, with whom he participated in the Manchurian offensive operation during the Soviet-Japanese War as part of this army of the 2nd Far Eastern Front. After the war ended, Major General P.P. Demin continued to command the division. From March 1947 to June 1948 he was studying at courses at the Higher Military Academy. K.E. Voroshilova, at the end of which he was appointed head of the main faculty of the Order of Lenin of the Red Banner Military Institute of the USSR Ministry of Internal Affairs.
In October 1957 he was dismissed due to illness. He died on August 23, 1976.
