History

Krivbassruda was formed in 1973 as an industrial association based on the mining trusts Dzerzhinskrud and Leninrud. In 1975, it was reorganized into a production association - in accordance with Decree of the Council of Ministers of the Ukrainian SSR No. 194 of April 18, 1975 and Order according to the USSR Ministry of Industry No. 430 of June 12, 1975.

As of January 1, 1978, the association included 10 ore departments of 24 mines.

In 1997, the successor of Krivbassruda became the public joint-stock company Krivorozhsky Iron Ore Plant.

Feature

During the years of existence, Krivbassrud was a highly mechanized association with modern equipment, the degree of mechanization of underground work amounted to 50%. At the enterprises of the association, advanced ore development systems were introduced. The production association included a motor depot, a railway transport department, a plant for reinforced concrete products and building materials, and other capacities. The main products were salable iron ore, secondary - crushed stone, sand, concrete, wall materials, prefabricated reinforced concrete structures and parts.

Krivbassruda developed mainly deposits of rich iron ores. As of 1984, industrial reserves to a depth of 1750 m were estimated at 1.033 billion tons of rich ores and 1.31 billion tons of magnetite quartzites. Rich iron ores were processed at crushing and screening plants and without beneficiation were used at metallurgical enterprises of the country and CMEA member countries . For the same 1984, the production of salable ore was 32.65 million tons per year with an iron content of 53.34%.

Many mines of the association, founded in the 1920s and 1930s, were actively reconstructed, new large mines were built with a capacity of 1 to 7 million tons of salable iron ore per year, for example, named after Ordzhonikidze, Novaya, Tsentralnaya, Gigant , Kommunar and others. Many of them mine ore at depths of 800–1000 m, mining and capital work at depths of 1100–1300 m. Due to the reduction of ore areas due to pinching of deposits with depth and reduction in the production of rich ores, magnetite quartzite reserves were actively involved in mining iron content of 30-40% at the mines of Kommunar, named after Ordzhonikidze, United and others, with enrichment on the spot or at neighboring mining and processing plants.

Structure

At different times, the Krivbassrud software included:
